La Fuerza Laboral de Texas cuenta con un programa que ofrece oportunidades a personas con capacidades diferentes por medio de los servicios de rehabilitación vocacional en el que se recluta y contrata a las personas ofreciendo las herramientas correspondientes.
Por medio de este programa, Lizeth Cortez fue contratada en Kumori.
A diferencia de sus compañeros, Lizeth padece de una discapacidad auditiva, pero esto no ha sido un obstáculo en su desempeño por sobresalir.
“Fue difícil sobrepasar ese muro porque la comunicación escrita a veces no es fácil, la gramática en inglés no es la misma para nosotros los sordos. Fue difícil entender, pero traté de hacer todas las preguntas y obtener los recursos para que pudiera entender y no me di por vencida,” explicó Cortez
Por su parte, Fabián Martínez, representante de la Fuerza Laboral de Texas, dijo que “los negocios normalmente se enteran de que no fue difícil adaptarse a la persona que tiene la discapacidad.” Martínez agregó que los negocios “salen contentos porque hay personas que tal vez, aunque tengan una discapacidad, siempre tienen algo que ofrecer”.
