Connecting Justice-Touched Individuals with Employment Opportunities: Workforce Solutions’ Second Chance Job Fair

Weslaco, TX - March 15, 2023 - Workforce Solutions (WFS), in collaboration with the Weslaco Economic Development Corporation, is excited to announce the Second Chance Job Fair, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 3rd from 9am to 12pm at the Business Visitors & Event Center on 275 S Kansas Ave, Weslaco, TX 78596. The job fair will serve as a platform for justice-involved individuals to showcase their skills and experience to potential employers who value diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

With a focus on second chances and creating pathways to meaningful employment, this event underscores the importance of supporting individuals in their journey towards reintegration into the workforce. Employers participating in the job fair will have the chance to tap into a pool of talented individuals eager to contribute to their organizations' success.

“The Bureau of Justice Statistics claims that approximately 60% of formerly incarcerated individuals struggle with unemployment, which is why we find it important to host these types of hiring events,” said Francisco Almaraz, WFS Chief Executive Officer. “We aim to provide individuals the chance to connect with employers who are committed to offering opportunities to those that have been through the justice system.”

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative event that brings together individuals seeking a fresh start with employers willing to provide them with a second chance. For more information about the Second Chance Job Fair, visit our website at www.wfsolutions.org or contact us at 956-661-2961. Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
