DATE: May, 27 2021

Workforce Solutions and La Plaza Mall to Host In-Person Job Fair

The 2021 La Plaza Mall Job Fair is Scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2021

McAllen, TX – Workforce Solutons (WFS) has partnered with La Plaza Mall to host the 2021 La Plaza Mall Job Fair on Saturday, May 29th from 10 am to 2 pm at La Plaza Mall, 2200 S 10th St, McAllen, TX 78503.

The 2021 La Plaza Mall Job Fair offers job seekers an opportunity to connect with employers on-site face-to-face. This no-cost event is open to the public and will feature more than ten employers seeking talented individuals to fill their open positions.

Participating employers include:

  • • Auntie Anne’s
  • • Dillard’s
  • • Mori Japanese Grill
  • • Zara
  • • Victoria’s Secret
  • • and more!

We urge job seekers to bring a copy of their resume and to dress professionally for possible on-site interviews with employers. Additionally, we encourage event participants to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. This event will also feature computers and printers for participants to print more copies of their résumé if necessary.

This event is a certified work search activity that can be reported to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). For eligibility purposes, unemployment benefits recipients are required to report weekly work search activity. TWC has determined that work search activites can include (but are not limited to):

  • • Participating in work-related networking events such as job fairs or hiring events
  • • Completing and submitting a job application submitted
  • • Interviewing with employers

WFS has consistently supported employers and job seekers during these challenging times via numerous virtual job fairs throughout 2020. To further empower job seekers, we have increased accessibility to employment opportunities via our website. As the state continues to reopen, WFS will return to in-person job fairs while also hosting virtual job fairs when possible.
