PHARR, Texas – Workforce Solutions Lower Rio Grande (WFS), in partnership with The PossAble Dream Foundation and The PossAble Dream Adult High School, has been awarded a $150,000 Texas Industry Partnership (TIP) Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to provide workforce training for 22 students pursuing careers in two of the region's most in-demand occupations: HVAC Technician and Medical Assistant.

The grant will help equip students with the technical skills, industry-recognized training, and workforce readiness needed to enter careers that are experiencing strong employer demand throughout the Rio Grande Valley. By investing in these high-growth occupations, the partnership is strengthening the local talent pipeline while creating pathways to sustainable, family-supporting careers.

The PossAble Dream Adult High School provides adult learners with opportunities to earn their high school diploma while developing career skills that lead directly to employment. The TIP grant expands those opportunities by connecting education with industry-driven training in occupations that continue to experience significant demand across South Texas.

WFS remains committed to partnering with employers, educators, and community organizations to develop innovative workforce solutions that meet the evolving needs of the regional economy while helping individuals achieve long-term career success.

WFS serves Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy counties. The primary goal of the WFS Board is to respond to the needs of local employers and workers through locally designed, demand-driven workforce development initiatives.
